thanks for joining us. how would you feel if your school started offering your child the morning after pill? that's what some schools in new york are doing right now to cut down the number of teen pregnancies. the health department approve the decision to provide plan b last yearch the program has expanded to 13 schools. and parents were notified and given the chance to on the out. students seem to have makeed feelings about the whole thing. >> there's no parents that -- if parents don't approve of it and some kid may need it.

>> i think a lot of people are feeling that way. so, we will hear what the coaches and fans and players have to say. in the meantime, everybody is a fan of the weather right now. >> exactly. we are chilly this morning. but a lot of people love this. just like the taste of the fall you can put your boots on and leather coat and go with it. >> your leg warmers. people can't see them but you have them on again. >> yes. we are officially in fall. and we are feeling it. we have the temperature now in owings mills coming in at 49 degrees. and we have the dew point at 45. so we are dealing with that dry air once again this morning. very cold bone dry i might add. 51 in davidsonville. and we are looking at 47 for a dew point in davidsonville right now. going throughout the day the atmosphere will moisten up but not a lot of moisture. we are not dealing with humidity. we have reisterstown temperature at 51 this morning. these temperatures are all below average. we should be at 55 degrees for this time of the year. and we can see the dew point coming in at 46 degrees as of now. so, we see what's going on on maryland's most powerful radar.

street. megan over to you. everything is back to normal after reports of a bomb threat at dulles airport last night. official say they searched the daily parking garages and they didn't find anything suspicious. now some arriving flights had to be held away from the gates until everything was clear. 3 minutes after 5. it's been a headache, and an office debate and a punch line until now. we are talking about replacement refs in the nfl. if you didn't stay up for monday nightfootball you will hear about it today and sherrie johnson is here to fill you in. >> reporter: just three weeks until the nfl season and the frustrations over the replacement refs reached a boiling point. coaches players and fans are frustrated with questionable officiating. things came to a head in the seattle green bay game. seattle tried for a game winning hail mary pass that looked like a interception but refs were getting mixed signals. stunning inning hurts the packers record and the very

integrity of the game. they come from the college level and the indoor arena league. the nfl turned to them after they locked out the regular refs when the contract expired in june. there are a few signs of progress in negotiations and some see little reason for the nfl to cave when fans are filling stadiums and tuning in on tv. new england patriots coach was angry about the calls in the game against the ravens and grabbed a official's arm. >> i am not going to comment about that. you saw the game. what we have 30 penalties called. >> when people change the channel, that's when you will see a change in the approach. >> reporter: lockout created a social media fire storm with some players venting on facebook and twitter and some gabe out commissioner roger goodell's phone number encirnlg fans to contact him. you watched tori smith's performance hours after fining out his brother had been killed in a motorcycle accident and why pretty moved by the story

or felt sympathy for him and his family. one patriot fan who goes by the twitter name katy brady 12 decided to joke about the passing of smith's brother on twitter. she joked about how the player should call his brother to tell him about the win. well, fans were outraged ray rice tweeted her back and said, you are terrible. and i hope you know the word carma. she had made the twitter account private and online articles are calling her the most hated woman in baltimore. when you head to the polls there's one issue sure to stand out you heard about. the referendum to legalize same sex marriage is going to be on the ballot. and linda so is live and there appears to be a final push with this issue. >> reporter: this is specifically from african americans who oppose same sex marriage in maryland are trying to get voters to get out to the polls and one of the methods is raising controversy. they are sending out

mailersfeaturing the phrase my mommy is my daddy and my daddy is my mommy so who is my aunt? language that some may find offensive. group called jump the broom for marriages is making calls trying to convince opponents the same sex marriage to make donations and get out the vote. a the leader of the group says it's aiming the message at the african american community. >> we believe if you have if you have the lord's word that states marriage is between a man and a woman. it's a unhealthy lifestyle for our children and it's just not right. >> reporter: and the group is targeting african american communities in baltimore city baltimore county and prince george's county. we are live in federal hill, linda so, abc2 news. students at coppin state will rock the vote as part of the black caucus national voter registration day. elijah cummings is cohosting the event and delivering the keynote address. it starts at 12:35 and it's happening at the moore library

quad. a healthy city days kicks off next week and today the mayor is going to tell you about it and will have an announcement on what events to expect. this shows the need for healthier lifestyles in baltimore city. the mayor will be joined by the house commission -- health commissioner and mark sanders who works with ed reed and ray lewis and following the press conference today, west port students will join him in a short workout. healthy cities days from october 1st until october 6th. amtrak hopes to break the speed limit in the northeast corridorch the rail service started to -- corridor. the rail service started to test trains at 165 miles per hour from maryland to massachusetts. all the locations may have one day of regular 160-mile-per- hour service and amtrak says that the tests are needed to perform and improve. they are doing five above what to expect to be the maximum operating speed of 160 miles

give way to an omazing october. this morning charley is live at camden yards with more on how fans are gearing up for the chance for an autumn play off run. good morning. >> reporter: hey, good morning to you. the one way they are certainly gearing up for october baseball. they have not put the orange away just yet. baltimore for the first time in 15 years in a playoff hunt for the major league and american league playoffs set to start in mid-october. here at camden yards offer my holder you might be able to hear it through the microphone. a lot of activity going on inside the gates here at oriole park. crews picking up trash from last night's double-header. the o's split it with toronto but there's heavy equipment noise going on in there. and work being done on the field or in the concourse area of the ball park at camden yards. as for the orioles themselves, they are a game and halfback of the yankees with 8 left to play in the al east also they have a
